First roses of the year

Last year, we had wave petunias come back from seed. This year, they’ve actually wintered over and are now in bloom in April – as are the pinks and verbena. There are sunflowers coming up on their own in random places and there are already buds on the roses.
An extended season is heaven for a gardener – but not when it comes at the cost of the planet. Visit Al Gores new project, the We Campaign, try really hard to get past the bad video narrative, and sign the petition for a global treaty on climate change.
